REACTIONS tools are measurement instruments designed to detect and document post-concussive symptoms in young children. These tools can be used to support the diagnostic process, monitoring of the evolution of post-concussive symptoms and recovery, planning of interventions, and for research purposes. Standards and practices in medicine evolve as new data become available and individual healthcare professionals should consult a variety of sources when making clinical decisions for individual patients. It is the responsibility of the treating physician or other healthcare professional, based on his or her independent experience and knowledge of the patient, to determine how best to assess and treat post-concussive symptoms. The information provided in the REACTIONS tools does not replace individual patient assessment based on healthcare providers’ review and consideration of laboratory data and other patient-specific factors. The REACTIONS tools are intended to support clinical assessment and should NOT BE USED TO REPLACE OR OVERRULE A LICENSED HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL’S JUDGMENT. REACTIONS TOOLS CAN CONTRIBUTE TO A DIAGNOSTIC APPROACH BUT ARE NOT DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS AND MUST NOT BE USED ALONE TO MAKE A CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS. CHU Sainte-Justine, University of Montreal and the REACTIONS team do not warrant or represent the completeness or accuracy of the REACTIONS tools for such purposes. By downloading the REACTIONS tools, you agree not to modify them without the written permission of the researcher at CHU Sainte-Justine and University of Montreal (miriam.beauchamp@umontreal.ca). Modifications prohibited without permission include, but are not limited to, removal or masking of copyright notices and logos, translation/adaptation of content and adaptation to another medium, such as integration into an electronic platform. The names of REACTIONS tools should also be cited where their use leads to publication, together with the appropriate reference(s).
